How it works
Tell us what you’re waiting for. We keep an eye out and email you once, the moment it happens.
1. Tell us what you’re waiting for
Write it the way you’d text a friend. For example:
- “Tell me when the Yeah Yeah Yeahs play near Grand Rapids.”
- “Tell me when Stripe posts a product designer job.”
- “Tell me when these headphones drop below $250.”
If we need to know more, we ask a question or two. Most take one click to answer.
You don’t need to know where to look. We search the web for you. If you already know the page, paste its link and we’ll watch that page instead (up to three).
Waiting for a price drop? Just name the product. Not sure what a good price is? Ask for “its lowest price in a year” and we’ll look it up for you.
2. We test it before you pay
We run the check once, right away, so you see what we’ll look for and what’s out there today.
- Things that are already out there don’t count. We only tell you about something new.
- If it has already happened, we show you, and you don’t pay.
- If we can’t check it, we tell you now, and you don’t pay. That happens when a site blocks us (some big shops, like Amazon, do), or when nothing on the web would report it.
- We can’t see anything behind a login or a paywall.
3. Pay once
You choose how long we watch, from $2.99. No subscription, and nothing renews. You’re paying for the watching, so the fee is the same whether or not it happens in that time.
4. We keep checking
- Prices and pages you name: once a day.
- Web searches: daily when it looks close, otherwise every few days. Never more than a week apart.
It’s not instant. Your case page shows when we last checked. If a page you named stops working, we tell you.
5. One email, with proof
When it happens, you get one email. It links to a short report with the exact words we found and where we found them.
Before we send it, we make sure those words are really on the page and that they’re new. For web searches, a second reader has to agree too. That’s how we avoid false alarms.
After that one email, the case is done, unless you chose to keep watching when you paid: then we email each new match, up to 10, until the end date, for the same price. If nothing happens by the end date, we send a short note, and you can start a new watch if you like.
