Domain name alerts

Know the day the domain you want is free. $2.99.

Tell us the name, like kettlewise.com. Every day we ask its registry, the official record of who holds it, and send one email the day the registry lets it go. Pay once. Nothing renews.

Drop-catching services race to register an expiring name for you and charge when they win it. If you want to know the day a name frees up, one watch here is $2.99 for 3 months or $7.99 for a year, paid once.

Why ask the registry?

The official record

We ask the registry that runs the ending (Verisign for .com, Nominet for .co.uk) the way registrars do. A “for sale” page or a parked site never sets it off.

See it before you pay

Setup asks the registry today and shows who holds the name and when its registration runs out. If it is already free, you’ll know before paying.

Pay once for one name

$2.99 covers 3 months, $7.99 a year. Nothing renews, and there is no account to cancel.

First month free.

An introductory offer while we’re new: start any watch free for a month, no card. When it ends, watch again, free while the offer lasts, or for a longer term. Pay once: no subscription, no auto-renew.

Questions

Which endings can you read?

Nearly all of them: .com, .net, .org, .io, .ai, .co, .app, .dev, .xyz, .me, .us, .ca, .co.uk, .de and hundreds more, each from its own registry. A few country endings publish no record we can read; setup tells you before you pay.

How soon will I hear?

We check once a day, so you hear within a day of the registry letting it go. An expired name usually waits 30 to 80 days before the registry releases it, and the owner can renew it any time until then.

Will you register it for me?

No. We tell you it is free; you register it at any registrar you like. Do it as soon as our email arrives, since others may want it too.

What if the name is for sale, not expired?

A name an owner is selling stays registered, so it doesn’t count. Want to hear when it goes on sale or drops in price? Ask for that in your own words and we’ll watch the sale page instead.

What happens after it frees up?

We email you the registry’s answer, and the watch ends. Nothing renews.

What if it never frees up?

Then you hear nothing. The fee covers the watching, free or not. You get a full refund if you cancel within 24 hours or we can’t start.
